Cap-Haitien, December 2, 2025.- The Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) organizes, from December 1 to 5, 2025 in the Christophian City, a new edition of its Training in Economics for Journalists. More than 20 media professionals from the Far North are participating, with the aim of better understanding the role of the Central Bank and improving the quality of economic information disseminated in the country.

Through this initiative, HRB continues its efforts to increase the economic awareness and skills of media actors. This session aims to provide journalists with conceptual and technical tools to enable them to analyse in a more relevant way the issues related to the Haitian financial system.

Throughout the week, participants interact with Central Bank experts through presentations, interactive discussions and practical workshops.

A programme focusing on key financial mechanisms

Training is structured around several key modules, including:
• the foundations of the national financial system;
• the functioning of the foreign exchange market;
• supervision and regulation of the banking sector;
• financial stability mechanisms.

This approach aims to better equip journalists to decrypt monetary policies, financial movements and key decisions of HRB.

At the end of this training, participants will have solid benchmarks to analyse economic facts and produce more rigorous content, thus contributing to a better understanding of financial issues by the general public.
