Port-au-Prince, October 7, 2025.- During the 24th edition of the "Mardis de la Nation" at the Primature, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cults, Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, outlined the main directions of Haitian diplomacy. Focused on the modernization of the ministry and the revitalization of foreign policy, this vision is based on five strategic priorities, including the promotion of a positive image of Haiti and the defence of national sovereignty.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs, His Excellency Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, took advantage of the 24th edition of the "Mardis de la Nation", held this Tuesday at the Primature, to present the main projects of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs (MAEC).
According to the Minister, Haitian diplomacy now revolves around five strategic axes: improving the living conditions of Haitians living abroad, promoting a positive and credible image of Haiti on the international scene, safeguarding national sovereignty, defending universal values and valuing Haitian products on external markets.
These priorities are part of the "Diplomatie 2025-2050" project, a long-term initiative aimed at reinvigorating the country's foreign policy. In particular, the Minister highlighted the training of 82 new candidates for the Master II in Diplomacy and International Cooperation at the Jean Price-Mars Diplomatic Academy, in partnership with INAGHEI.
Another significant step is the forthcoming opening of a MAEC office in Cap-Haitien to facilitate the legalization of official documents and bring diplomatic services closer to citizens.
The Minister also announced the forthcoming holding of a National Conference of Ambassadors, on instructions from the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), in order to define new directions for Haitian diplomacy.
In conclusion, Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste reaffirmed the commitment of the government and the CPT to restore national security, an indispensable condition for the political stability and international influence of Haiti.
