Port-au-Prince, March 19, 2026.- The Minister of Youth and Sports, Pythagoras Dumas, inspected the sports parks of Thomassin and Sainte-Thérèse on Tuesday, March 17, in order to assess their condition and identify the needs for modernization. This visit is part of a desire to strengthen sports infrastructure and improve conditions of practice for young people.

Accompanied by his team, including its Chief of Staff Joseph Innocent and the Coordinator of Sport Centres, Jean Roland Dartiguenave, the Minister reviewed the facilities to measure structural challenges and consider rehabilitation avenues.

On the spot, Pythagore Dumas spoke with young athletes and leaders of football schools, including FC Toro, who welcomed this approach. Discussions focused on lack of supervision, training conditions and expectations for equipment.

Infrastructure managers, on the other hand, requested increased support from the ministry to meet the growing demand for sports spaces. They also expressed their willingness to work with the authorities to boost the sector.

The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to make sport a lever of development and social cohesion, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé. It intends to drive a new dynamic based on proximity, listening and modernisation of infrastructure.
