Port-au-Prince, October 14, 2025, L-Entreprise Haiti Metal S.A., a pillar of national production for 75 years, announced the suspension of its operations following several human tragedies that hit its staff. Among them, the brutal murder of his Director of Operations, shot dead in the presence of his four-year-old daughter. This act symbolizes the worrying drift of insecurity in Haiti. This murder, which occurred after a series of kidnappings targeting administrative and technical employees, illustrates the increasing vulnerability of the country's economic actors.
In its communiqué, the management of Haiti Metal S.A expresses its deep gratitude to the population for the confidence placed in the company for several decades. But it strongly denounces the deterioration of the security environment and the lack of vision of those responsible for protecting citizens. Its production facilities, located in Thor 65, Carrefour, were attacked and stripped despite their location in a "so-called quiet and safe area". These events, according to the company, undermine years of efforts dedicated to creating jobs and enhancing local production.
Calling for national awareness, Haiti Metal S.A urges Haitians to protect productive infrastructure and preserve what has been built over time. The management reaffirms that national production of goods and services remains and remains the only path towards the development of Haiti. In a message of faith and resilience, she concludes: « The Lord gave, the Lord took away... May the Will of Christ be done. »
