Port-au-Prince, August 12, 2025.- The President of the Transitional Presidential Council, Laurent Saint-Cyr, received an official delegation from Kenya, led by Joseph Boinnet, Deputy National Security Advisor, in Port-au-Prince on 12 August.
During this meeting, the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) and the announcement of the forthcoming opening of a Kenyan Consulate in Haiti.
Accompanied by Councillor-President Leslie Voltaire, the President of the CPT, Laurent Saint-Cyr, praised the commitment and sacrifices made by the Kenyan forces deployed in Haiti since June 25, 2024, paying tribute to the soldiers who fell in the exercise of their mission, in the department of Artibonite.
Discussions also focused on the need for better coordination between the Haitian National Police (HNP), the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD) and the MSS in order to increase the effectiveness of operations and support the success of the transition.
The delegation of Kenya reaffirmed Nairobi's support for Haiti's stabilization efforts and announced the forthcoming opening of a consulate as a major milestone in strengthening bilateral relations.
Both sides agreed to continue to advocate for increased support for logistics equipment and resources, while maintaining a dialogue with the UN and OAS on the future of MSS.
