Haiti affirms global commitment against corruption in Doha

Doha, 15 December 2025. – At the head of a delegation, the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC), Mr. Hans Jacques Ludwig Joseph, participates in the 11th Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), held from 15 to 19 December in Doha, Qatar. Placed under the theme « Achieving peace through integrity: combating corruption in conflict-affected areas »This meeting brings together the anti-corruption authorities of 192 states.

The Director General of the ULCC shares Haiti's national experience and helps define the international anti-corruption agenda for the next two years. His intervention focuses on governance, transparency and public integrity, essential pillars for building confidence and consolidating peace in fragile societies.

Organized under the auspices of the United Nations, the Conference of the States Parties to the UNFCCC constitutes the main multilateral framework for the coordination of anti-corruption actions. Discussions focused on prevention, international cooperation, asset recovery and public governance, confirming that corruption was a global challenge requiring concerted strategies and strengthened governance mechanisms.

For Haiti, this participation illustrates the international recognition of the efforts of the ULCC and the country's willingness to promote transparency despite its institutional fragility. According to Hans Jacques Ludwig Joseph, « this conference is the occasion to see the international recognition of the continued efforts of the Republic of Haiti to overcome the evil of corruption and impose good governance ». The Haitian presence confirms the country's commitment to fully integrate into global cooperation mechanisms to combat this scourge.
