Port-au-Prince, July 2, 2025.- On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé made a strategic work visit to the headquarters of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), during which the authorities examined the significant progress made in the electoral process, including the finalization of the referendum decree, the imminent publication of the electoral calendar, and the progress of the territorial structures.
The Transitional-CPT Presidential Council and the Government reaffirmed their commitment to holding credible, free and inclusive elections, in a context of enhanced security, to ensure the return to constitutional order and the effective restoration of State authority, according to an official communiqué of the Primature.
However, given the expansion of armed groups occupying an increasing part of the national territory, some observers consider the holding of elections to be particularly complex. Despite these constraints, the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister for Electoral Affairs, Mr. Joseph André Gracien Jean, met with the President of the CEP, Mr. Patrick Saint-Hilaire, and other Electoral Advisers, particularly on the budget issue, ensuring the mobilization of the necessary resources for all phases of the process.
The Prime Minister reiterated that combating insecurity is a key national priority for the elections. He also called for a general mobilization, especially of young people and women, to help build a peaceful, just and sovereign Haiti.
In addition, the CEP reported several notable advances, such as the installation of Departmental Electoral Offices (DECs) and Departmental Referendum Offices (DROs), the opening of polling stations, the integration of modern technologies, and the publication of the first results of recent regional assessments.
