Youth Employment: Ministry of Environment welcomes new cohort of PIJE trainees

 

Port-au-Prince, 13 January 2026.- As part of the Youth Employment Initiative (YEIP), the Ministry of the Environment, on Monday 12 January, integrated a second cohort of 15 young trainees. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), is part of the policy of the CPT/Fils-Aimé government to strengthen the employability of young people and boost public administration.

The welcoming ceremony was held in Port-au-Prince in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Environment. On this occasion, the Director General of the MoE, Joseph Emmanuel Philippe, welcomed the arrival of the new trainees, stressing that the integration of young people into the public service is a priority of government action.

He urged recipients to be disciplined, professional and creative, while emphasizing continuous learning as a lever of success and contribution to departmental projects.

For his part, IYCP coordinator Charleney Daniel recalled that the program aims to prepare young academics and professionals for the labour market, while strengthening their sense of ethics, commitment and teamwork. He said that PIJE covers about 275 young people and will gradually be extended to the country's ten departments.

The trainees, for their part, expressed their satisfaction to integrate public administration through this opportunity offered by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the Ministry of the Environment MdE, illustrating the will of the Minister of the Environment, the engineer Moses Sons Jean Pierre, to invest sustainably in Haitian youth.
