Pétion-Ville, December 30, 2025.- Less than a year from the election, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé visited the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) on Tuesday. A move that has nothing to do with the continuing doubts about the feasibility of the elections, the Prime Minister reminds us that the executive remains mobilized.
In front of election advisers, the head of government showed satisfaction after the election calendar was published. He welcomed the role of the Transitional Presidential Council in finalizing the decree, presenting this progress as a « realistic roadmap », able to bring the country back to democratic normality.
But the Prime Minister was not content with congratulations. He emphasized the security emergency: protecting internally displaced persons, ensuring the freedom of movement of voters, strengthening the capacity of the gang law enforcement force. Without a rapid improvement in the situation on the ground, the timetable may remain a dead letter. And Alix Didier Son-Aimé knows this: where her appeal to the international community to intensify her support.
This visit to the CEP is a message: the executive wants to take over the electoral narrative and show that it will not let the security crisis bury the process. It remains to be seen whether the actions will follow the speeches.
