Port-au-Prince, August 3, 2026.- In a context marked by the deterioration of the security situation in Haiti and the deployment of the Gangs Repression Force (GRF), the National Network of Haitian Students (RENAEH), with the support of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), launched on August 2, 2026, an essential awareness campaign. The aim of this citizens' initiative is to inform the public about their fundamental rights and to popularize existing complaint mechanisms against abuses, ill-treatment or inappropriate behaviour committed by FRG agents.
For RENAEH, respect for human rights remains a strict and inalienable obligation for all actors involved in security operations in the territory. The organisation makes a humanised and accessible information effort to remind every citizen that no one should be subjected to arbitrariness in silence, thereby promoting a collective awareness of the abuses of authority.
In order to move from awareness to action, simple communication tools are shared to effectively guide victims and witnesses of abuse. Reporting procedures have been simplified as far as possible to allow the inhabitants of the areas concerned to document the facts without exposing themselves, thus facilitating a direct link between the civilian population and the supervisory bodies.

Each file received is rigorously documented and oriented to appropriate follow-up mechanisms, with RENAEH formally ensuring that all complaints remain strictly anonymous and confidential.
