PNH : Garry Desrosiers returns in force and reports on insecurity

The National Police of Haiti (PNH) officially presented, this Thursday, November 6, 2025 to Clercine 8 (Tabarre), its new spokesperson: Commissioner Municipal Garry Desrosiers. The ceremony, led by Inspector General Frantz Lerebours, responsible for communication, also provided an overview of the main operations carried out in October.

In his speech, Inspector General Lerebours expressed the institution's willingness to strengthen its relations with the press and to improve the dissemination of information. « What is important to us is to rebuild, with the media, a harmony capable of helping the country to get out of the current security crisis. », he said.

Invested in his duties, Garry Desrosiers presented the results of the police interventions of the past month. Specialized units seized 10 firearms, several cartridges and 9 vehicles. The PNH made 125 arrests in the ten departments for offences such as rape of minors, armed robbery, criminal association and banditry.

The Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) intercepted 5.7 million gourdes from illegal activities. The Minors Protection Brigade (BPM) recorded six cases of rape against minors. Five suicides and four traffic accidents were also reported.

An operation in Lalue on 11 October allowed DCPJ to dismantle a network of counterfeiters specializing in the manufacture of false documents. Several individuals were arrested, including Gabriel Lozaire, James Onel, Joël Louis, Hector Jean-Baptiste, Nesly Kattie, Luben Cuan, Valson Aubin, Pierre François Jean Maurice, Daniel Pierre, Kesnorld Descombe, Louis Nord Petitdort and Jean Chesnel Laguerre. Seals belonging to political institutions and parties have been confiscated.

In Fonds-des-Blancs, the authorities apprehended Laurent Berthony, suspected of murdering policeman Revalcy Abner.

The return of Garry Desrosiers, who had held this position between 2017 and 2024, marks a desire to renew the communication strategy of the PNH. In a tense security environment, the institution relies on transparency, media cooperation and continuous communication with the population to restore confidence and strengthen the fight against crime.
