Port-au-Prince, July 16, 2025.- The Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) conducted a search this Wednesday at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC). The purpose of the investigation, which has been under way for more than six months, is to shed light on potential acts of corruption related to the management of public funds, particularly in connection with the celebration of the flag celebration.
This Wednesday, as part of a thorough investigation, the ULCC invested the offices of the MJSAC in Port-au-Prince, in accordance with articles 11 and 12 of the decree of 2004 establishing the anti-corruption unit. Under the mandate of Director General Hans Jacques Ludwig Joseph, sworn agents seized several documents, digital media and other evidence. The investigators also sealed a safe containing a cash amount of 1,225,500 gourdes, linked to a disbursement of 50 million gourdes to celebrate the national holiday on May 18.
The investigators, acting as judicial police officers (OPJ), also conducted on-site hearings. The seizure of these funds and the confiscation of documents indicate the seriousness of the investigation, which is concerned with the use of public funds, including those intended for official events.
The ULCC reminds the public that any person with relevant information can contribute to the investigation by calling 5656, a free and confidential telephone number, or by going directly to the ULCC headquarters, located at #20, Delmas 83, Port-au-Prince.
The ULCC reaffirms its commitment to integrity, transparency and good governance. The Anti-Corruption Unit renews its determination to track down all forms of malpractice in the management of public affairs.
