Peace and citizenship: BINH and Brazil partner to value young people

Cap-Haitien, November 25, 2025.- Society for Debate, educational structure engaged in the promotion of human rights, citizen training and social development, received the head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (UNIH), Carlos Ruiz Massieu, and the Ambassador of Brazil, Luis Guilherme Da Silva, Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Town Hall of Cap-Haitien.

Organized within the framework of the peace dialogue tables in the North, the meeting was organized under the theme « Youth and security: dialogue to better understand » and aimed at strengthening citizen participation, dialogue and social cohesion in the region.

Ms. Youbentha Préval, Coordinator of Society for the Debate, presented the actions carried out and the involvement of young people in the communes of Cap-Haitien, Grande-Rivière du Nord and Borgne, stressing that « young people felt fully involved as key players in change ». Professor Méme Daphie recalled that « the role of women in the national development mechanism », calling for active political commitment.

The international dimension was also highlighted. Carlos Ruiz Massieu (BINH) said: « We welcome Society's daily commitment to the Debate for Peace and Stability »While Brazilian Ambassador Luis Guilherme Da Silva said: « Brazil will remain an ally of the Haitian people in all peace initiatives ». The event brought together young leaders and representatives of civil society, all united around the values of justice and dialogue.

This meeting confirms the Society's commitment to the Debate to create open spaces for dialogue, to value the voices of young people and to support sustainable initiatives that promote peace and living together in the Northern Department.
