Port-au-Prince, November 12, 2025. – A special seminar for trainees of the National School of Financial Administration (ENAF) is held from Monday, 10 November, until Friday, 14 November 2025, at the initiative of the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). This event marks an important step in the Haitian State's commitment to strengthening good governance and integrity in public administration.
Since its official reopening on 27 October 2025, ENAF has affirmed itself as a central player in the formation of the new generation of public executives. In this context, the IGF, in partnership with UNODC, launched this training seminar for trainees in the thirteenth promotion. The aim is to strengthen their technical and ethical skills in public financial management and the fight against corruption.
The first day of the seminar was moderated by three main speakers:
- Mr. Florient Jean Mari
- Mr. Adrian Banu
- Mr. Ralph Jerry Remy
The experts presented the first three training modules, focusing on international standards and good practices in governance and transparency.
At the opening ceremony, the representative of UNODC, Mr. Adrian Banu, expressed his gratitude for this collaboration, which he considered an exceptional opportunity to share international standards and good practices in the fight against corruption.
For her part, Ms. Goethie Varnelle Morency, Inspector General at the IGF, stressed the importance of a professional and responsible structure to ensure transparent management of public finances. She recalled that the reopening of ENAF and the organisation of this seminar met a requirement for greater professionalisation of the administration.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alfred Fils Métellus, the Director General of ENAF, Jean Bouco Jean-Jacques, said that this event occurred at a decisive time when the State reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening good governance. He also pointed out that hosting the 13th promotion, made up of 45 new trainees, was a significant step towards strengthening the operational capacity of public administration.
Beyond just training, this seminar reflects a strong commitment by the Haitian state and its international partners to transparency and accountability in public management. With the support of UNODC and the commitment of IGF and ENAF, this initiative paves the way for a more modern, competent and inclusive administration in support of the country's sustainable development.
