Tabarre, 17 July 2025.- Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé returned from his official mission to the United States on Thursday. At a press briefing on his arrival at Toussaint Louverture International Airport, he took stock of his diplomatic tour in Washington, focusing on security, the TPS program and President Biden's humanitarian initiative, elections and economic recovery.
At the diplomatic fair, the Head of Government presented the main points of the visit: security, migration and bilateral cooperation. He stressed the importance of his efforts with several members of the US Congress to obtain a review of the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) and the programme. « Humanitarian Word » for Haitian nationals.
He also stated that the priority of this mission was to defend the renewal of the GST, strengthen cooperation with international partners and advance national priorities such as security, the organization of elections and economic recovery.
Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé stressed the need to reactivate HOPE/HELP programs, which he said were essential to stimulate the Haitian economy. He concluded by saying that the visit had been carefully prepared, with specific objectives and concrete results at the key, stressing that it was a real work mission, not a mere protocol visit.
Activists, rara groups and bikers warmly welcomed the Prime Minister back to Washington on Thursday. These supporters celebrated his arrival in a festive atmosphere, expressing their support for his actions to restore the security climate, the economic revival and his clear willingness to hold inclusive elections. His visit to Washington was aimed at strengthening cooperation with international partners on these priorities.
