Port-au-Prince, September 1, 2025.- On Thursday, 28 August 2025, the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) welcomed the first beneficiaries of the Youth Employment Integration Programme (PIJE) during a ceremony at the General Inspectorate of National Education in Musseau, Delmas 60.
The ceremony was attended by Professor Jean Robert Dossaint, Chief of Staff of Minister Augustin Antoine, several executives of the MENFP, as well as Daniel Chalné, coordinator of PIJE and assistant director of economic studies at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), according to a note from the MENFP.
This first cohort consists of young university graduates who will complete a three-month paid internship in public institutions. This is a pilot phase of the programme, which, after evaluation, should be extended to private companies.
In his occasional speech, Professor Dossaint encouraged trainees to engage rigorously and professionally, stressing that, while it is a temporary internship, they integrate a real performance-oriented work environment.
PIJE's coordinator, Daniel Chalné, detailed the program's objectives and stressed compliance with the Guide to Conduct and the Public Service Order, emphasizing the importance of ethics and ethics during the internship. For her part, Anne Monique Monday, Director of Human Resources of MENFP, provided support to the trainees, urging them to show discipline, seriousness and enthusiasm to succeed in their professional integration.
Gaëlle Délice, a graduate in social communication at the University of Port-au-Prince, said she was enthusiastic about joining MENFP to apply her knowledge while continuing to learn. She praised PIJE for the opportunity for young people to gain initial professional experience.
For his part, Elmond Saint-Léger, a graduate in Administrative Sciences at UNASMOH, expressed his joy at starting his career at the MENFP and was ready to meet the challenges of this new stage in his life.
It should be recalled that in March 2025 the Haitian government relaunched the Youth Employment Integration Programme (YEIP), aimed at integrating 1,000 young people aged 18 to 35 into the labour market each year through quarterly internships in the public and private sectors. This inclusive program selects participants based on their academic achievements and professional skills.
