Port-au-Prince, February 19, 2026.- The Ministry of Trade and Industry held, on Thursday, February 19, at the Hotel Montana, a working session as part of the preparations for the regional women's entrepreneurship fair, scheduled for 7 and 8 March in the Great South. Through its Women's Entrepreneurship Support Programme (FEAP), the Ministry intends to structure the support of women entrepreneurs and strengthen their contribution to the national economy.
In opening the work, Minister James Monazard stressed the strategic scope of this initiative, which he sets out in a forward-looking vision of Haiti's economic development. Recalling that women are an essential pillar of the Haitian economy, he stressed the commitment of the State through the PAEF, whose first cohort already has 40 beneficiaries. He also stressed the need to strengthen synergy between national and international partners to enhance the country's economic potential.
For its part, MCI's Managing Director, Panel Paulemont, said that this fair represents an important step in creating an enabling environment for women's businesses, especially in the Greater South, a region with high potential. The PAEF coordinator, Mona Lisa Dunbar, recalled that the program aims to build the capacity of more than 500 women through training, technical support and funding opportunities, with the support of the Industrial Development Fund.
Through this regional fair, the MCI intends to offer women entrepreneurs a platform of visibility, networking and economic opportunities. The event is a strong signal for greater participation of women in regional and national development.
