Port-au-prince, 12 June 2025.- The National Education Fund (FNE) rejects the accusations of waste, corruption and mismanagement of public funds, published by the online media www.realiteinfo.com and relayed on social networks. These unfounded allegations made by Esaïe Beauchard, former mayor of Cité Soleil, seriously undermine the image of the institution denounces the executive director of FNE Sterline Civil in a note. The institution requires a public withdrawal within 24 hours, failing which legal proceedings will be considered.

In a context where education in Haiti is more than ever at the heart of concerns, the National Education Fund (NEF) finds itself under the fire of criticism. Rumors circulating through social networks claim that the institution would be involved in wasteful and corrupt practices, notably evoking an alleged hijacking of more than 2 billion gourdes in just 100 days.

Esaïe Beauchard, former No. 1 in Cité Soleil, is responsible for these charges, which suggest that cheques would be distributed irregularly from an alleged FNE secret office housed in Vivy Mitchell, as well as allegations of dismissal of employees from midday, thus denouncing inactivity within the institution.

In reaction, the general management of the FNE formally denies these accusations. The institution states that no office is located in Vivy Mitchell and that no evening cheque distribution has been authorized. On the other hand, employees of the NSF are on a work schedule that extends to 16 hours.

In the interests of transparency, the FNE recalls that all its financial operations are regulated by the legislation in force and supervised by the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH). The financial resources available, derived from the fees provided for in the 2007 Act, have never reached more than 1 billion gourdes, and all expenditures are subject to rigorous control procedures.

The NSF also highlights its various initiatives, including the programme of support for schools and families affected by insecurity, support for poor families in the North and West, and partnership with the National School Canteen Programme (NCSP). These actions demonstrate the commitment of the NEF to meet the challenges of the education sector.

Faced with these accusations, the FNE launches a 24-hour ultimatum in Esaïe Beauchard to effect an immediate public withdrawal. Otherwise, the institution reserves the right to institute legal proceedings against any person or organization involved in the dissemination of this false information, can be read in the note bearing the signature of the Director General of the FNE Sterline Civil.
