Port-au-Prince, August 3, 2025.- From August 4 to 29, 2025, the Association for the Promotion of the Social Service in Haiti (APROSSH) organizes the fifth edition of its Psychosocial Camp, placed this year under the theme « Byennèt kòmanse nan tèt». This programme, which has become a flagship initiative in the Haitian context, aims to provide a friendly accompaniment space for children affected by the country's socio-economic and security crisis.
Approximately 250 children will participate, including about 50 living with a disability. The camp is supported by Concern Worldwide, through the MBLK – Manje Byen project, Lespri ak Kò Djanm. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., it will offer various activities combining creative expression, educational learning and psychosocial interventions, in order to promote personal development, living together and resilience. A daily meal is also planned to meet their nutritional needs.
To ensure proper management, the animation team received targeted training on psychosocial approaches on Saturday, August 2. This session strengthened their skills in active listening, emotional management and support for children in difficult situations, according to coordinator Jim-Wise Elie.
APROSSH renews its commitment, through this fifth edition, to offer secure and enriching environments, where children can rebuild, dream and flourish, despite the many challenges faced by Haitian society.
