Ouanaminthe, February 15, 2026.- The Minister of Trade and Industry, James Monazard, made an official visit to Caracol Industrial Park in the northeastern part of the country on Friday, February 13, 2026. This approach is part of the implementation of the renewal of the American law HELP/HOPE, recently renewed by the United States Congress, considered as a key lever to stimulate Haitian exports and strengthen domestic industrial competitiveness.

A Strategic Assessment of Park Capacity

In a note published on Facebook, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) confirmed that during his trip, the Minister inspected the facilities, met with managers and several economic operators present on the site. The discussions focused on the expansion prospects, structural constraints and mechanisms to be put in place to optimize the impact of the HELP/HOPE law on the Haitian economy.

The stated objective is clear: to consolidate the gains, attract new investment and foster sustainable growth, focusing on job creation and local production.

A strong industrial hub

Currently approximately 65% occupied, Caracol Industrial Park generates nearly 2,500 direct jobs. It has more than 69 000 m2 of immediately usable space, plus more than 23 000 m2 in development. This additional capacity should allow the park to eventually regain its historic level of employment and to intensify its industrial activities.

Considered as one of the country's main industrial hubs, the site represents a strategic asset for North-East development and for national economic recovery.

An energy transition for competitiveness

Among the ongoing structural projects is the installation of a solar photovoltaic power plant with a total capacity of 13.4 megawatts, equipped with a battery storage system. This infrastructure is designed to ensure a stable and continuous 24-hour power supply for both the park and surrounding areas.

Beyond energy security, this initiative should improve the attractiveness of the site to investors, while enhancing the environmental sustainability of industrial operations.

Strong political will

This visit reflects the commitment of the government led by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé to accompany the application of the HELP/HOPE law in a structured and transparent manner, the note states. Through the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the executive intends to increase strategic partnerships, support local entrepreneurship and ensure that the benefits of international trade arrangements truly benefit Haitian communities.

In an economic context marked by many challenges, Caracol Industrial Park thus appears to be a central pillar of the national strategy for industrial renewal and modernization.
