Haiti Tech Connect Awards : Haitian tech finally sets up its great annual meeting

Port-au-Prince, December 2, 2025.- Launched last October by Haiti Tech Podcast, the first edition of the Haiti Tech Connect Awards aims to recognize, value and reward the digital innovations brought by Haitians, both in Haiti and in the diaspora. Led by engineer Jean Marie Altema, the initiative aims to remedy the lack of visibility of a yet expanding technological ecosystem. The winners will be unveiled at a virtual ceremony scheduled for December 12, 2025.

In an interview given to Radio Magik 9 on December 1, Jean Marie Altema stressed that these Awards meet a need: to celebrate the efforts of the actors who actively contribute to strengthening the Haitian digital ecosystem. According to him, many local initiatives remain unknown despite their high impact, hence the desire to popularize innovative projects and encourage technological creativity.

The event offers several categories covering key areas, including media creation and innovation, diaspora tech excellence, education, technological innovation, and leadership and governance. Each category includes sub-categories, with one named winner and one champion per category. The nominees include public institutions and companies such as the CNMP, the ONI, HaitiPay, MonCash and NatCash.

The winners are selected by a jury composed of experts from Haiti and the diaspora. Some distinctions, including the Young Technology Prize, the Women in Technology Prize and the Excellence Tech of the Diaspora, are subject to public vote, thus promoting direct interaction between innovators and citizens.

The awards ceremony will be held entirely online on December 12, 2025. A dedicated portal already allows you to discover the nominated projects and participate in the votes for the categories concerned, strengthening the accessibility and scope of this first major annual meeting of Haitian tech.
