Haiti delivers its voice to the Regional Forum on Social Security in Brazil

São Paulo, 25 March 2026.- The Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Marc Elie Nelson, participates in the Regional Forum on Social Security for the Americas, held from 25 to 27 March 2026 in São Paulo. At the head of a Haitian delegation, he intends to promote the country's social protection priorities and strengthen regional cooperation.

The Haitian government takes part in the regional discussions on social protection at the Regional Forum on Social Security for the Americas, which is currently held in São Paulo. Minister Marc Elie Nelson leads a delegation including Dithny Joan Raton and the consul of Haiti in São Paulo, Youri Emmanuel.

This event brings together policy makers, experts and institutional leaders around the major social security issues in Latin America and the Caribbean. The discussions focus on strategies to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations and build more equitable and inclusive social systems.

The opening ceremony was attended by several high-level personalities, including the Brazilian Minister of Social Security, Wolney Queiroz Maciel, Jamaican Minister Pearnel Charles Jr., and the Secretary General of the International Social Security Association, Marcelo Abi-Ramia Caetano.

According to the authorities, this participation is in line with the guidelines set by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé. Minister Marc Elie Nelson is scheduled to intervene this Thursday, March 26 in order to present Haiti's progress, challenges and prospects for social protection.

Through this presence, Haiti seeks to strengthen its regional partnerships and to promote concrete solutions for a more effective and sustainable social security system.
