Port-au-Prince, July 21, 2025.- In response to the security crisis in the country, the highest Haitian authorities held a strategic meeting on Monday, July 21, at the Primature in Musseau.
On this occasion, Councillors-Presidents Leslie Voltaire and Laurent Saint-Cyr, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, as well as other key officials, defined a series of urgent measures designed to strengthen the security response, in order to restore state authority.
This initiative, according to the government, reflects the common will of Haitian institutions to restore the Republican order and dismantle criminal networks. The Government has announced the implementation of exceptional budgetary and logistical means to increase the capacity of the HNP and its response to armed gangs.
According to a communiqué of the Primature, this meeting also brought together the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Dr Patrick Pélissier, members of the Task Force on Security, as well as the Commanders of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD
Participants stressed the importance of strong coordination between national authorities and international partners to ensure a rapid, effective and sustainable response to insecurity. The restoration of security remains one of the priorities of the State, which is committed to creating the necessary conditions for the holding of the constitutional referendum and the organization of free and credible elections, concludes the communiqué.
