Haiti-Environment: Towards strengthening climate resilience in the Nippes

Nippes, July 8, 2025.- At the initiative of the Ministry of the Environment (MdE), a regional workshop to present the results of the diagnosis of the National Adaptation Plan (PNA) Monitoring, Assessment and Learning System (SSEA) was organized on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Fonds-des-Nègres, a commune in the Nippes department.

The aim of this workshop was to:
1) raising awareness among local actors;
2) share diagnostic results;
3) discuss links with the Environmental Information System (IES-Haiti).

Mr Brutus Marguet, the Departmental Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took the floor to recall that « The AWS must enable us to measure, correct and move together towards effective adaptation to climate change. »

Moreover, this activity is part of the actions of the 30th anniversary of the MoE for a stronger environmental governance, closer to the territories.

The cyclonic season extends from June 1 to November 30, 2025.
