Aristide Foundation: free screening for cardiovascular diseases until 31 October

Tabarre, 29 September 2025.- On the occasion of World Heart Day, this Monday, September 29, the Aristide Foundation University Hospital launched an extensive campaign of free consultations and screenings for cardiovascular diseases. The initiative, which runs from September 28 to October 31, expects an average of 150 patients per day from 8 AM to 3 PM.

The Aristide Foundation University Hospital has chosen to go beyond the symbolism of World Cardiovascular Disease Day by organizing a free screening and medical consultation campaign. From 28 September to 31 October, the population is invited to visit the hospital compound directly to benefit from this programme.

In an intervention on Radio Magik 9, Dr Quénold Désiré said that this screening mainly concerns hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol, chronic diseases highly related to cardiovascular risks. Every day, about 150 patients are expected.

To participate, just mention his interest in hospital reception and receive a participation card. The consultation is free of charge. In case of complications requiring special follow-up, specialists in cardiology, urology, internal medicine, dermatology, pneumology etc. are mobilized. However, the selected patients will have to ensure the purchase of medicines and additional examinations themselves.

With this initiative, the University Hospital of the Aristide Foundation intends to strengthen prevention and awareness around chronic diseases that represent one of the main causes of mortality in Haiti as well as in the world.
