Paris, 16 September 2025.- The writer Ar Guens Jean Mary was named winner of the ETC Caribbean Theatrical Writing Award 2025 for the best French text with her play entitled « Sweat Anonymous ». According to the jury, this text constitutes a dramatic variation around the Haitian Revolution, featuring Défilée, an iconic historical figure, the voice of an entire people.
Meeting in video conferencing on Friday, September 12, the jury composed of directors, actors, artists and lecturers in theatre studies from various universities in the Caribbean, praised the originality of the dramaturgic project, the quality of the language and the singular treatment of the theme.

Special mention was given to « The Round of Unions » Pardon Samantha, distinguished for the originality of his writing.
The jury also highlighted the high quality of the 2025 selection and recommended accompaniment for several promising texts:
– The Valiant of Giovanny Germany;
– The sacrificed and the Parisian Creole of Dan Dantin;
– Luciole de Frantz Kerby Mathieu;
– The Noémie Petchy Fromager;
– Metisage of Fanny Gatibelza;
– The flames shouted his name Daneka Neissa Jean.
It should be noted that the Caribbean ETC Award annually recognizes French- and Creol-speaking theatre writers from the region. It offers a grant of 2,000 €, a one-month writing residency at the Author's House in Limoges, and a reading of the winning text.
Recent winners include:
– Madjanie Leprix won the award for best Creolophone text in 2024;
– Melissa Mambo Bangala, the best French text in 2023.
