Pétion-Ville, June 12, 2025.- the National Police of Haiti (PNH) celebrated its 30 years of existence during an official ceremony held at the National Police Academy in Frères, municipality of Pétion-Ville. The event brought together members of the Transitional Presidential Council, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, members of the government, representatives of the diplomatic corps and other personalities.
In a national context marked by growing insecurity, the Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé praised the patriotic commitment, discipline and courage of Haitian police and police officers. Qualifying the HNP of « backbone of public security »he paid tribute to the officers who had fallen into service, recalling that « their sacrifice will never be forgotten ». He also stressed that, despite limited resources, the HNP remains the ultimate bulwark against anarchy, an indispensable pillar for Haitian sovereignty and democracy.

The Director General of the HNP, Mr. Rameau Normil, took the opportunity to set out the institution's strategic priorities: strengthening its operational capabilities through the acquisition of modern military equipment including weapons, armoured vehicles, helicopters, night vision equipment, ships and combat drones. He also announced the recent arrest of three members of the armed group « Viv ansanm »intercepted at the Haitian-Dominican border while they were trying to obtain suicide bomber drones. An operation carried out in collaboration with Dominican intelligence services.

In his speech, Presidential Adviser Leslie Voltaire praised the efforts of the PNH in the fight against armed gangs. He called for synergy between political and police authorities in order to restore security, an essential condition for national recovery.

At a time when the Haitian state is facing serious threats, the government affirms its unwavering support for this regal institution, which it considers to be a central player in the refounding of the state and the restoration of legitimate authority. On this thirtieth anniversary, the nation expresses its gratitude to these men and women who, every day, defend the republican order at the price of immense sacrifices.
