Port-au-Prince, July 18, 2025.- Accused by the report of the organization Ensemble contre la corruption (ECC) for having received money in connection with projects related to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), the former Minister of the Environment, Jean Marie Claude Germain, firmly rejects these allegations. he claims that he did not receive any remuneration or wrongdoing during his ephemeral visit as a member of the Department's staff. According to him, his gerconsul firm is not involved in any suspicious operation.
During an interview with Radio Magik9, this Friday, Jean Marie Claude Germain discussed the circumstances of his collaboration with MJSAC. he explained that she had been asked by the Minister of Sports, Mrs. Niola Lynn Octavius, to assist in the preparation of the budget for fiscal year 2024-2025.
Given the Minister's inability to finalize this crucial document, he claims to have accepted the task « by patriotic duty »Despite his temporary residence in Miami. he specifies to have returned to Haiti hated on September 4, 2024 to work with the executives of the ministry.
But the mission was short-lived. Faced with the ECC's accusations of corruption, Jean Marie Claude Germain is categorical: « my firm has not signed any contract with the MJSAC and has not received any payment for any project. » he challenged the veracity of the organization's report, which he considered to be devoid of tangible evidence.
According to Mr. Germain, the ECC's report was published in a hasty and unsubstantiated manner. It blames the organization for spreading serious charges without having collected its version of the facts or verified the allegations made. he reserves the right, he said, to file a complaint for defamation and infringement of his honour.
