Tabarre, February 23, 2026.- The National Police of Haiti (PNH) arrested, on February 21 and 22, 2026, two suspected active members of a network specializing in kidnappings for ransom operating in the metropolitan area. Jerry Easy, presented as a key element of the criminal justice system, and his accomplice Béatrice St-Fort were arrested and then detained in the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ).
The PNH announced Monday, from Tabarre, the arrest of Jerry Easy, suspected of playing a strategic role in a network of kidnappers active for several months in the capital. According to the initial elements of the investigation, he was responsible for identifying the targets and coordinating the abduction operations for the benefit of his band.
Referred to the DCPJ, the suspect collaborated with the investigators, providing decisive information about his accomplices. These revelations led to the questioning of Béatrice St-Fort at her home in Vivy Mitchell on Sunday, February 22. According to the testimony gathered, she would also be actively involved in gang activities.
Both suspects are currently being held in custody and subjected to thorough interrogation. The HNP claims that it continues to hunt down kidnapping networks that fuel insecurity in the metropolitan area, reiterating its desire to systematically dismantle these criminal structures.
