Port-au-Prince, 29 August 2025.- On 28 August 2025 marks the five years of the assassination of the stickman Monferrier Dorval in 2020 in Pétion-Ville. On occasion, the structure "Nou se Dorval" organized a press conference at the Ephraim Hotel, in Delmas 41, to denounce the forgetting of this file by the Haitian justice and demand justice as well as reparation for the family of the illustrious lawyer.
Five years after the heinous murder of the former barrister of the Bar Association of Port-au-Prince, Monferrier Dorval, the quest for justice remains unresolved. On Thursday, 28 August 2025, at the Ephraim Hotel, members of the "Nou se Dorval" structure recalled that this crime, called "state crime" by Iswick Theophin, remains plunged into silence and impunity.
In his speech, Mr. Théophin recounted the history of the case while pointing out that there are several avenues for relaunching the investigation, but that a powerful arm seems to hinder the outcome of the judicial proceedings. He urged the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) to assume its responsibilities to break the truth.
The structure claims to have undertaken various steps, notably with the Bar of Port-au-Prince, the Federation of Bars of Haiti (FBH) and the International Conference of Bars (CIB), in order to support the judge in charge of the case.
For "Nou se Dorval", five years of waiting is already too much. The fight continues to ensure that justice is done and that the name Monferrier Dorval does not fall into oblivion.
