Port-au-Prince, September 17, 2025.- Faced with the threat of gangs ravaging the neighbouring town of Cabaret, the Mayor of Arcahaie, Wilner René, claims to have recourse not only to the armed forces, the police and the brigadier, but also to the « Mystical forces » to protect its commune.
In an interview with Magik 9 on September 17, 2025, Mayor Wilner René said: « Nou pare pou yo e nou pa p kouri pou yo ». He insists on the mobilization of all available resources including mystical practices in order to prevent any armed incursion into the commune.
While Cabaret is completely under gang control, with its station destroyed, its courts closed and its elected officials forced into exile for two years, Arcahaie still resists. The bandits, located at the border between the two communes and up to the Bercy area, failed to penetrate the Arcahaie. For the time being, the main roads remain open.
Having become a welcoming land for a large part of Cabaret's displaced people, Arcahaie is facing increasing pressure. Mayor René calls on the central state to strengthen the commune in terms of human and material resources in order to consolidate this line of defence.
