Paris, September 8, 2025.- Jean-Luc Mélenchon multiplied his calls for citizen mobilization and general strike on September 10, in a tense political context marked by François Bayrou's social plan and the desire to put pressure on the executive.
Since the announcement on 15 July of the plan « Abominable » To reduce social gains, the leader of La France Insoumise (LFI) has activated to coordinate citizens' protests. His gallery of 16 August in La Tribune Sunday had already called on activists to support the movement « Block all »set for Wednesday, September 10.
On 22 August, at the summer universities of LFI in Châteauneuf-sur-Isère, Mélenchon made a clear call: « September 10 must be a day of general blockade, i.e. a general strike. » He praised the creation of civic assemblies and the enthusiasm for the movement, emphasizing its popular and horizontal dimension.
On 6 September, in Lille, he again stressed the importance of mobilization: « On the 10th, let's block everything to get Macron out »he launched, confirming his political objective of putting pressure on the executive. On 8 September, during the vote of confidence in the National Assembly, this mobilization took its full meaning in the face of the Bayrou government's attempt to pass its draft budget.
The movement « Block all » advocates a total and unlimited stop: no longer pay, no longer consume, no longer work. Its demands include the citizens' initiative referendum (CIR), the defence of public services, wage increases and the rejection of the draft budget 2026. Unsubmissive France plans to table a motion of censure on 23 September to test the stability of the government.
Between fora, speeches and civic actions, Jean-Luc Mélenchon coordinates a movement designed to transform September 10 into a decisive test for « Block all » and for the influence of France on the government and the executive. Citizens and activists are called upon to engage massively, in a context where each key date from July to September sets out the calendar for the challenge.
