Rarity of fuel? Skeptics and Fighters Fighting

Port-au-Prince, November 21, 2025. — As if by magic, the yellow gallons have resurfaced since the beginning of the week in the streets of the capital, fueled by a persistent rumor of a possible scarcity of fuel on the national market. The rush and long queues immediately invaded the gas stations.

At the infosNation microphone, Papito, a young taxi-moto driver, explodes: « Mezanmi, we're already on the ap vann 1250 gud a te a ! » A coded language means a direct increase in the price of races and, by domino effect, a general increase in the price of basic necessities. However, since yesterday Thursday 20 November, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) has brought a formal denial of these rumours. There is no shortage of fuel on the domestic market: petroleum products are available in sufficient quantities to meet demand, the MCI reassures.

In order to demonstrate its good intentions, the Ministry of Trade and Industry announces the deployment of inspection teams throughout the national territory to carry out spontaneous checks at gas stations and distribution points. Objective: To ensure compliance with prices, established conditions of sale and to prevent or punish any speculative or illegal practice.

These operations will be conducted jointly with the Haitian National Police in order to ensure the order and proper functioning of the supply system, concludes the MCI, which invites the population to serenity.

However, between the skeptics, the bounty hunters and the MCI, the debate on trust comes back to the stage as a permanent challenge.
