Port-au-Prince, December 11, 2025.- The UNESCO Office in Haiti today welcomed the launch of the 19th edition of the International Jazz Festival in Port-au-Prince, scheduled from 7 to 10 January 2026. The organisation underlines the importance of PAPJAZZ for artistic creation, intercultural dialogue and the presentation of the Haitian and Caribbean musical heritage.

The International Jazz Festival of Port-au-Prince is about to celebrate its 19th edition from January 7 to 10, 2026. At the launch press conference, the UNESCO Haiti Office reaffirmed its support for this event, which has become a must in the Haitian cultural landscape.

Erika Francillon, UNESCO Culture Programme Officer, stressed the artistic significance of the PAPJAZZ. According to her, this festival creates essential bridges between Haitian musicians and international artists, facilitating the exchange of practices and nourishing a dynamic of cultural diversity. It is precisely for these values that UNESCO has supported the initiative for several years.

The 2026 edition is also an opportunity to highlight the richness of the Haitian and Caribbean musical heritage. By promoting the mobility of artists and cooperation between cultural actors, the festival helps to enhance the visibility of the local music scene while stimulating contemporary creation.

Hosted by national institutions such as the MENFP, the Ministry of Culture and Communication and the Ministry of Tourism, the PAPJAZZ remains a strategic appointment to promote the image of Haiti internationally through music.
