Peace and security: Government consults Vodou representatives

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs Raina Forbin met with representatives of the Vodou sector on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, to discuss security, peace and national reconciliation issues.

This is in keeping with the Government's desire to strengthen dialogue with the various sectors of the country to promote national unity, restore stability and create an environment conducive to credible and secure elections.

During the discussions, participants stressed the importance of social cohesion, support for victims and the promotion of lasting peace. The representatives of Vodou reaffirmed their commitment to contribute to mediation and community awareness efforts. A follow-up mechanism has also been announced to ensure continuity of interaction and implementation of recommendations.
