Port-au-Prince, September 3, 2025.- For some time, we have witnessed the acceptance of what is abnormal as normal. Values, customs and customs are increasingly eroding in Haitian society.
By trying to adapt to the difficult situation in the country, many citizens seem to act in an irrational or disoriented manner.
In the absence of impunity, gang leaders and their accomplices, who were once hooded, are now appearing as rappers or spokespersons, trying to make them forget the attacks they have perpetrated against civilians, public infrastructure, including police stations, subcommissariats and prison centres.
Using at all costs their rod of manipulation and diversion, Jimmy Cherizier, alias Barbecue, Krisla and Jeff Gwo Lwa circulate freely from Martissant to Canaan, from the Croix-des-Bouquets to Mirebalais, without the slightest fear of being captured or neutralized, while they are on the list of persons actively sought by the National Police of Haiti (PNH). All the more so, the US State Department promised a $5 million reward to anyone who would provide information leading to the arrest of Jimmy Cherizier, spokesman for the foreign terrorist organization "Viv Ansanm" and former PNH agent.
Change of command at the HNP
In the Haitian security landscape, the former Security Coordinator of the Presidency, André Jonas Vladimir Paraison, officially took over the reins of the National Police of Haiti (PNH). The installation ceremony was held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Villa d'Accommodation, located in Musseau, Delmas 60.
