Port-au-Prince, December 20, 2025.- The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour (MAST) calls, in a press release published on Friday 19 December, for all employers in the country – whether they work in the industrial, commercial, agricultural or other sectors – to comply with their legal obligation to pay the annual termination premium, known as the « Boni »to their employees between 24 and 31 December.
This measure is not optional: it is provided for in articles 154, 155 and 156 of the Haitian Labour Code. To ensure its implementation, the MAST announces the establishment of two inspection brigades which will travel the territory to ensure that workers receive this allowance.
In a difficult economic context, this premium is an essential breath of oxygen for many employees. It not only helps to meet certain needs accumulated throughout the year, but also to live with a little more dignity at the end of the year.
The Ministry insists on employers' social responsibility and invites them to fulfil this duty with rigour and respect, in recognition of the work done by their employees throughout the year.
