Kenscoff, 1 August 2025.- Faced with the growing threat of armed groups and security tensions in the vicinity of Kenscoff, the Town Hall, headed by interim executive officer Jean Massillon, took a series of strict measures. As of Friday, August 1, 2025, all outdoor cultural activities are suspended, motorbike night traffic is prohibited, and bars must close by 8:00 p.m. These decisions came after a police operation that neutralized several bandits, but also after a murderous counterattack that cost a policeman his life.
In a context of high instability at the national level and as security threats are approaching the commune, the Kenscoff communal administration has announced a series of exceptional restrictions to contain any escalation of violence.
At a press conference held on Thursday, July 31, the interim Mayor Jean Massillon unveiled the main lines of a special municipal decree, which came into force on Friday, August 1. Among the flagship measures are the immediate suspension of all outdoor cultural activities. The objective is to avoid unframed gatherings that could serve as targets or pretexts for armed attacks.
Other decisions directly target nightlife and travel:
Prohibition of motorcycle traffic between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Compulsory closure of bars, clubs and shops from 8 p.m.;
Enhanced identity control throughout the municipality;
Mobilization of the population to support law enforcement.

On the airwaves of Magik9, the same 1st August, Jean Massillon fired the alarm bell. He revealed that weapons and men reinforcements are coming from Carrefour to support criminal groups working around Kenscoff. It calls on the PNH to step up operations and secure strategic axes, including those linking the municipality to Carrefour.
This alert comes a few days after a major police operation on 24 July, during which several bandits were neutralized by a helicopter, Task Force and heavy equipment. While this offensive marked a first in the area, it was not enough to ensure sustainable control.
In fact, bandits at Furcy and Obléon responded the same evening to Teleco, killing a policeman, injuring two others, burning two vehicles, including one armoured vehicle, and removing several civilians.
For Massillon Jean, the hour is at a muscular prevention. He insists: « Without a rapid increase in staff and resources, the municipality is likely to switch. »
