Instituée par les Nations unies afin de mettre en lumière les préoccupations de la jeunesse, cette journée est placée cette année sous le thème « Des contextes différents, des aspirations communes « .
For part of Haitian youth, access to education, vocational training and employment remains difficult. The security crisis also disrupts school and professional careers and complicates socio-economic integration. In this environment, disuse and lack of prospects may expose some young people to substance use, delinquency or the search for rapid incomes. At the same time, public and humanitarian initiatives are being implemented to promote their inclusion and to remove them from the mechanisms of violence and exploitation.
This year's theme echoes the aspirations of a generation facing difficult realities, but which continues to seek education, decent income, skills development and participation in society. The International Youth Day thus highlights the conditions in which young Haitians live and the issues related to their future.
