Kingston, September 18, 2025.- Less than ten days after his re-election, Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness officially launched his new mandate with the swearing-in of his ministers. He stressed the importance of the results, reminding each member of the cabinet of their responsibility to the people.
Reelected for a third term, Holness thanked voters for the renewed confidence. According to him, this vote in favour of hope and stability commits his team to concretely meeting the expectations of the population.
In a statement posted on Facebook this Thursday, September 18, he said: « The trust we have received is precious. We must earn it every day by building a Jamaica that meets the aspirations of its people. The mandate is clear: serve, act and transform. »
For his government, including 14 ministers, Horace Chang was appointed Minister of National Security and Peace, Fayval Williams Minister of Finance and Public Service, Christopher Tufton Minister of Health, Floyd Green Minister of Agriculture, and Matthew Samuda Minister of Environment and Climate Change.
It considers this new mandate a historic step and a confirmation of popular support. The Head of Government promises to strengthen the effectiveness of the State and to continue building a more inclusive and prosperous nation for all Jamaicans.
