Port-au-Prince, October 7, 2025.- During an interview with Radio Magik 9, on Tuesday, October 7, the leader of the Les Engréés pour le Développement (EDE), Dr Claude Joseph, clarified the official position of his political party towards the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT).

In response to the CPT's invitation, the leader of the EDE party, Claude Joseph met with the Council Coordinator, along with three other advisers. According to Dr Joseph, this meeting, marked by courtesy, allowed EDE to reiterate directly to the authorities of the transition its constant position as well as the legitimate concerns of the Haitian people, he said.

EDE regrets, however, that the CPT waited less than five months before the planned end of the transition, as defined in the Agreement of 3 April 2024, to initiate a dialogue with the political forces. While the party said that it had responded favourably to the invitation, it was nevertheless sceptical about the sincerity and real chances of success of such a late initiative.

After drawing up a report to the CPT authorities on their 19 months of management, the EDE Party demanded strict compliance with the deadline of 7 February 2026, provided for in the agreement of April 2024.
His position remains clear: "elections must be free, honest and credible, but they cannot be organized without serious, responsible and trustworthy governance. "

To this end, EDE asked the CPT coordinator to acknowledge the Commission's failure and to participate in the search for a viable political solution. The party also urged not to obstruct the process of replacing the CPT with credible governance, capable of regaining the confidence of the people and convening them in their committees, in accordance with the progress made by the Provisional Electoral Council.
