Delmas, August 7, 2025.- In an official note, the management of Djoune Bar and Grill wanted to clarify its position in the face of rumours circulating on social networks and in some media, implying a possible involvement of the institution in political matters related to former Senator Nenel Cassy and the Caisse d'Assistance Sociale (CAS).
« We want to categorically deny any connection or involvement of DJOUNE BAR AND GRILL in a political affair or in questionable practices related to these entities », read in the note.
They state that the CAS has formally and transparently rented a vacant area belonging to the institution as part of its social activities. This ad hoc collaboration took place within a strictly professional framework, without any political link.
It is important to recall that on 6 August 2025, the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) announced that it had seized financial documents during a search at a hotel in Delmas 40B, identified as Djoune Bar and Grill. The documents found included copies of cheques issued by the Caisse d'Assistance Sociale (CAS), linked to subsidies, premiums and feeding cards. Two significant amounts were noted: 7,315,000 gourdes and 3,582,750 gourdes. However, the identity of the beneficiaries was not communicated.
Djoune Bar and Grill officials denounce an attempt to manipulate for political ends. They find it regrettable that internal affairs in public administration are used to undermine the reputation of private companies involved in local development.
