Constitution: Prime Minister listens to lawyers for inclusive reform

Port-au-Prince, September 1, 2025.- Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé met this September 1 in Port-au-Prince, the batonnier Patrick Pierre-Louis and the Bar Commission to discuss the Preliminary Draft Constitution. This meeting is part of the Government's desire to lead the Transition through dialogue and inclusion.

The constitutional reform process is taking a new step. Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé received, in his official residence, a delegation from the Bar of Port-au-Prince, composed of the batonnier Patrick Pierre-Louis and members of the commission responsible for analysing the Preliminary Draft Constitution, including Mr. Josué Pierre-Louis and Mr. Bernard Gousse.

During the meeting, the lawyers presented to the Head of Government their report on the analysis of the text under discussion. The Prime Minister welcomed this contribution, which was « precious » and stressed the need to involve all the forces of the nation in this major institutional project.

Reaffirming the Executive's commitment to a strengthened rule of law, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé stressed the importance of making the constitutional issue a priority of the Transition, « in the best interests of the Haitian people ».
