Alix Didier Fils-Aimé calls for increased international support at a tripartite meeting

Washington, 27 August 2025.- Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé, representing the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), took part, this Wednesday, August 27, in Washington, in a tripartite meeting organized by the Organization of American States (OAS), with the participation of the United Nations, CARICOM and the Group of Eminent Persons (GPE).

During his intervention, the head of the Haitian government, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, called for a strengthening of international support for Haiti, particularly in the areas of security, elections, governance, humanitarian aid and economic recovery.

In a statement, the Primature confirmed this participation and stressed the Prime Minister's recognition of the solidarity of foreign partners. He also welcomed the OAS road map as a useful basis for accompanying the ongoing political transition.

On the security front, Alix Didier Fils Aimé announced concrete actions to restore the authority of the State, secure the main roads and strengthen the security forces, including the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD-H).

On elections, he recalled the government's commitment to a free and transparent election. To date, 85 per cent of the voting centres have been identified, 70 per cent of the electoral staff mobilized, and $65 million has been secured, according to data provided by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).

He concluded by calling for better coordinated international cooperation to help Haiti emerge from the crisis and move towards stability.
