Port-au-Prince, September 8, 2025 – Diplomat José de Jesús Cisneros Chávez officially took up his duties as Ambassador of Mexico to Haiti on Monday, September 8. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Laurent Saint-Cyr, and the Minister of Justice, Patrick Pélissier.
On this occasion, the new Ambassador reaffirmed Mexico's willingness to support Haiti in its development projects and to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.
This appointment follows the mandate of H.E.M. Héctor Morales Ríos, who led the Mexican diplomatic mission to Haiti until 2024. The entry into office of Mr. Cisneros Chávez illustrates the common will of Haiti and Mexico to strengthen their diplomatic ties, thus consolidating a historic, stable and promising partnership.
It should be stressed that diplomatic relations between Haiti and Mexico, established in the 1940s, are based on constant dialogue, active cooperation and mutual respect. This Monday's installation ceremony embodies the shared will of both nations to continue and strengthen this historic collaboration, in a spirit of solidarity and lasting partnership.
