Port-au-Prince, November 27, 2025.- Invited to the show « The Meeting with Volcy Assad » This Thursday, November 27, 2025, former Prime Minister Jean Henry Céant opposed the initiative of Councillor-President Fritz Alphonse Jean to dismiss Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé. In his view, replacing the head of government within two months of the end of the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC) would be irrational, dangerous and volatile. Rather, it advocates partial ministerial reshuffle to strengthen government action without breaking the state's continuity.
The former Prime Minister and leader of the Renmen Ayiti party strongly criticized the idea of replacing Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, while some CPT members last week tried to push him out.

In his view, making a change of head of government so close to the end of the CPT's mandate, scheduled for approximately two months, would be both risky and counterproductive. He said it was unlikely that a new Prime Minister would be able, within such a limited period of time, to achieve internal cohesion, define clear priorities and develop a credible roadmap for ministers.
In the face of this perspective, which he described as perilous, the former head of government proposes instead a targeted ministerial reshuffle, considered more realistic and more effective. Such an approach would, in his view, make it possible to adjust certain strategic sectors of the Executive without causing any institutional shock, while preserving the continuity necessary for the approach to the end of the transition.
John Henry Céant, who led the government under the presidency of Jovenel Moïse, believes that the most coherent solution, after the departure of the CPT, would be to maintain Alix Didier Son-Aimé at the head of the Council of Ministers in order to ensure the management of day-to-day affairs until the next elections.
This position comes at a time when Prime Minister Fils-Aimé was recently facing an attempt by some CPT advisers to dismiss him. This approach was denounced by the American and Canadian embassies, which exerted diplomatic pressure on its instigators.
Among these are Fritz Alphonse Jean, representative of the Montana agreement, sanctioned by the United States. Washington withdrew his visa, accusing him of collusion with armed groups, accusations which he categorically rejected at a press briefing given on 25 November 2025 at Villa d'Accommodation.
