Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé officially launched on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the national campaign to raise awareness, mobilize and train Haitian women for inclusive elections. Affirming that « Pa gen demokrasi san fanm »The Head of Government recalled that women ' s participation remains essential for strengthening the country ' s democratic institutions.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed his team's commitment to promoting genuine equality between women and men in political life. The preliminary draft of the electoral decree includes financial incentives of up to 3 billion gourdes to encourage the full participation of women at all stages of the electoral process.
Already, 40 per cent of the staff recruited by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) for departmental and communal electoral offices are women. In addition, a minimum quota of 30 per cent of women candidates is now mandatory on the legislative lists, while a 25 per cent funding bonus will be granted to parties that have successfully elected more than 50 per cent of women in the upcoming general elections.
The Head of Government welcomed the partnership between CEP and UN-Women, which he described as « essential engine of inclusive democracy ». He took the opportunity to pay tribute to the historical figures of Haitian women's courage, including Suzanne Sanité Bélair, Catherine Flon, Claire Happy and Aunt Toya, whose commitment marked the birth of the Nation. He believes that these heroines should inspire the present generation in the struggle for fair representation.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé urged women to continue their civic and political commitment, stressing that their active participation is the key to a more stable and prosperous democracy. It reaffirmed the Government ' s commitment to create the necessary conditions for their full integration into public governance and national decision-making.
