Cap-Haitien, November 26, 2025.- The city of Cap-Haitien hosted, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, a decisive working session between the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC), the World Bank and the technical teams mobilized around the modernization of the airport. The meeting provided an overview of the runway rehabilitation work and improved coordination before entering a new phase of operations, crucial for the development of the North.
The working session was held at the premises of the firm COAMCO Haiti S.A., company responsible for the construction site. Around the table: representatives of the World Bank, the main sponsor of the project, the teams of the Masters of Works (AMO) and the technicians of the MTPTC. Exchanges have been used to review progress, identify technical challenges and strengthen synchronization of interventions. Stakeholders reaffirmed the need to meet deadlines and implement international quality standards.
Following the meeting, Minister of Public Works Raphaël Hosty conducted a technical visit to the track and control tower, two major components that will be subject to imminent renovation. This approach aims to ensure direct supervision of the site and to maintain the momentum for global modernisation of airport infrastructure.
This working session consolidated the collaboration between the MTPTC, the World Bank and the technical operators, all aligned around a common objective: to equip Cap-Haitien with a modern airport, secure and capable of supporting the economic, tourist and social ambitions of the North. Minister Hosty expressed satisfaction with the development of the project and welcomed the continued support of the financial partner.
