Tabarre, September 3, 2025.- The Hydro-Weather Unit (UHM) confirmed that a tropical wave is currently crossing the Caribbean region. This phenomenon could reach Haiti accompanied by a cold front, causing showers and thunderstorms on several departments of the country.
The main areas concerned are the West, Central, Nippes, Artibonite, North and North-West, especially at the end of the day and during the night of 3 September 2025. The UHM states that this wave could evolve into tropical depression by mid- or late-week, calling for increased vigilance and preparation of flood-prone communities.
In addition, Haiti is hit by an intense heat wave, putting children, the elderly and people with disabilities in particular at risk. In the face of this situation, the authorities recommend drinking water regularly, refreshing as much as possible and favour light and light-coloured clothing. The public is also invited to monitor official weather reports and to apply all necessary precautionary measures.
