Alix Didier Son-Aimé on an international mission to accelerate the deployment of the Gang Repression Force

Port-au-Prince, 8 December 2025- Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé left the Haitian capital on Monday to participate in the International Conference of Contributor Countries, a strategic meeting dedicated to the organization of the imminent deployment of the Gangs Repression Force (GRF). This displacement occurs as the country faces an upsurge in armed attacks, exacerbating expectations for international cooperation.

According to the Primature, this mission reflects the Government's determination to restore order, secure the population and ultimately guarantee democratic elections in a peaceful environment. The authorities hope that this conference will mobilize concrete commitments to strengthen the security response in Haiti.

Around the table, several key partners participated in the discussions: Canada's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), David Lametti, US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, Ambassador Henry Wooster, and delegations from Kenya and Guatemala. The Haitian Prime Minister must address the meeting before the plenum of pledges, a decisive step in finalizing the support package.

The head of government, who advocates international synergy against armed gangs, is expected in Port-au-Prince on December 10. This mission should be followed by further consultations aimed at accelerating the implementation of the FRG in the coming weeks.
